We will all eventually die

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Hebrews 9:27.

Have you ever stopped to wonder how you would be remembered?

How will your friends and family remember you when you’re gone?

When I die...

Will I be remembered as one who taught many the gospel...

Or as one who constantly needed to be reminded of the most fundamental truths

"For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat." Hebrew s5:12

Will I be remembered as one who was a wonderful example of what a Christian should be...

Or as one who was a good example of how not to act.

"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

Will I be remembered as one who raised my children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord...

Or as one who never bothered teaching my children about the Lord;

thinking that was someone else’s job.

"And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." Ephesians 6:4

Will I be remembered as one who always had a kind word to say...

Or as one who could really let you have it.

"Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." Colossians 4:6

Will I be remembered as one who really worked hard to bring glory to God in all things...

Or as one who always tried to gain honor and respect for myself.

"Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:15-16

When I die...

Will Jesus say,
"Come, ye blessed of my Father,

inherit the kingdom prepared for you

from the foundation of the world..."

 Matthew 25:34

Or will He say,

"Depart from me, ye cursed,

into everlasting fire, prepared for

the devil and his angels."

Matthew 25:41

What is your choice?  Are we living as we should?
